The library is partnering with the Michigan Mushrooms LLC to host a mushroom hunting and identification class.  Join Christopher Williams, state certified mushroom expert, and his wife, Monique (owners of Michigan Mushrooms LLC) on a free guided mushroom hunt facilitated by the Presque Isle District Library, Millersburg branch.

Christopher will share his knowledge and years of experience hunting for all types of fungi in northern Michigan.  Ultimately, Mother Nature will decide what types of mushrooms are to be found, but in the best case up to a dozen different edible species can be covered including those from the Chanterelle family, different types of Boletus, Lobster Mushrooms, Chicken of the Woods, and "medicinal" mushrooms such as Reishi and Turkey Tail.

Participants will meet at the Ocqueoc Falls parking lot at 1:30 pm.  Dress for the outdoors and be prepared for change of weather that includes good walking shoes, hat, sunglasses, water, and BUG SPRAY.    RSVP is required for head count and limited participants. You can reserve your spot by contacting any of the five library branches.  See Home page for listings.
