Back by popular demand, HOMESPUN II!  Celebrating our northern folk music with regional musicians performing live on stage at the Rogers City Theater on Thursday, February 15th.

Local musicians featured throughout the evening starting at 6:30 pm.  Freewill donation.

Musical artists featured for the evening include:

Al Gross, aka the Bearfoot Baladier

Al hails from Rogers Township and can be seen singing his ballads at the Knabe’s Munchy Crunchy every fall.  He has performed at the Northwoods Coffee House and the Nor’easter Music Festival. If there’s a music jam nearby, you’re more than likely to see Al.  He hosts the annual Music Jam at the 40 Mile Point Lighthouse during the Night at the Lighthouse.  He has a passion for the traditional to contemporary folk music mixed in with ballads.  His love of homespun music was the inspiration for the first Homespun at the Rogers City Theater.

Lori Cleland

Lori has been performing folk music since the age of sixteen.  She along with three best friends formed the all-women acoustic folk music quartet, Just Friends. The group performed throughout the country including performances on live radio shows in Nova Scotia, WDET in Detroit and the prestigious “Brunch with Bach” series at the Detroit Institute of Arts.  They were featured at the Philadelphia Folk Festival, Old Songs Festival in New York, Madison Folk Festival in Wisconsin and the Southeastern Dulcimer Festival in Hastings, Michigan.  Her highlight was performing with 165 member choir with Luciano Pavarotti for the gala opening of the Detroit Opera House in 1996.

She is proficient in several instruments including piano, acoustic guitar, 5 string banjo, ukulele, mountain dulcimer, and the Native American flute.  Lori resides in Cheboygan, Michigan.
