LEGECI Classes

Life Enrichment and Good Earth Cultural Initiatives

Teaching traditional northern crafts is the focus of these classes. This student-centered learning environment is offered to the public to help promote and preserve the knowledge, skills and stories of the past and present. The creative environment in which these classes are taught by professional artisans stimulates students to connect to the craft and other students who share similar interests. Many of these classes attract people from throughout Northeast Michigan who enjoy working with their hands, learning new crafts, and sharing the time with others interested in the traditional folk arts.
Please contact your Presque Isle District Library branch in Grand Lake, Millersburg, Onaway, Posen, or Rogers City, (main branch)  for more information and class registration. Materials will be provided along with individual instruction. Class fee and class size varies for each class. All classes are taught by professional artisans who will, in addition, share some of the cultural and historical significance about each craft.
