This program is free and suitable for all ages.  Programs are held on the 2nd floor of the Onaway Historical Courthouse at 1:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month.

September 6th Eagles Soar and Lions Roar - Dr. Carl Palazzolo is a wildlife veterinarian and photographer.  He combines his knowledge of photography and exotic animal veterinary medicine for this presentation.  He will share his astonishing slideshow highlighting his many trips around the world.
October 4th The Best Laid Plans:  Eight Hectic Years of Big Time AAU Girls Basketball - When local author, Ralph L. Moore's daughter begins playing AAU in high school basketball, he and his family discover the demands and commitment required to this sport and how it affects the entire family.  Using humor and love, he writes about their experience.
December 6th 1899 Shipwreck! - The Great Lakes Shipwreck Historical Society's Executive Director, Bruce Lynn will relate the tragic story of the 199 foot schooner, Nelson, which sank in 1899 near Grand Marais, MI.  The wreckage was discovered in 200' of water on August 26, 2014.  Bruce will present the newly released book, "The Legend Lives On, SS Edmond Fitzgerald" which features archival material and exclusive underwater images.
January 3rd Bobcats of Northern Michigan - One of Shelby Hiestand's favorite animal to study is the bobcat.  She worked with bobcats in northern Wisconsin and now in northern Michigan.  Shelby is a wildlife biologist for the DNR in Atlanta, MI.  She will talk about bobcats in Michigan and other fur bearing animals.
February 7th Madagascar Island Adventure - Dr. Tracy Dulak, a local veterinarian, will share her fascinating stories and slide presentation of the incredibly beautiful mountainous island with the audience.  She and her husband traveled to Madagascar and crossed northern Madagascar, mountain peak to sea, on foot and used rafts for the whitewater section.
March 7th The Rise of the Onaway and The American Wood Rim Factory -
Once again, Newton "Nute" Chapman, Jr. will be on hand to share his library of history, pictures, and stories...some of which have never been published.  He will talk about Onaway's early beginnings, it's people and it's industry.
